Nearly everyone readily acknowledges theimportance of education, but only a few understand the sheer depth of its significance. The great Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most important weapon we can use to change the world". This statement of fact could not be more impressed upon in the present time. Education is the most powerful tool for upliftment of the downtrodden and empowerment of the weaker section of our society for casting aside the oppressive weights of exclusion, discrimination and poverty. There is no loftier goal thanthe proliferation of quality education, accessible to each and every youth who seeks it and alsoto those who are in oblivion. It is indeed my honour and immense privilege to be appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of Maa Shakumbari University, a haloed place of higher education, wherein I will strive tirelessly to make it a paragon of learning and all round development.
Throughout my long career as an educator, I have witnessed the immense power and dynamism of  education. It influences and shapes minds, builds character and transforms lives. I have always believed that impact of education is agreat deal more than mere academics, andit  encompasses a universal holistic approach that puts the all-round growth of the student as its prime focus and responsibility. Alongside academic excellence, it shall be my endeavour to also focus on the mental and physical wellness  of each student, as I have always believed that the best learning can only happen in a nurturing and encouraging environment. It is vital that new morals and educational principles are established for the 21st century viz., principles for global citizenship that have universal application,transcending national and ethnic boundaries-- firmly rooted in the philosophy of respect for life. This is the only way of opening the gateway forward for a valuable education. Through extra-curricular and community-oriented activities, I wish to help students learn more about themselves and their place in the world, so that they leave these grounds not just as capable and deserving students, but also as dynamic and efficient humanistic individuals.
The higher education world over has witnessed a significant change in its approach and also a spectacular growth. Higher education in Indian subcontinent too, has readily adapted with to meet the global challenges.  Under the dynamic leadership of Honourable Chancellor and Honourable Chief Minister, every institution has geared up by harnessing the latest technologies in the field of education.  Our move towards inter- disciplinary  studies, interactive research based learning with integration of technology have opened up variety of options and also multiple challenges. Our country is at a juncture where a big population of youth is seeking higher education. Maa Shakumbari University being strong believer and practitioner of the dictum 'Knowledge is Power' has started delivering quality education by developing    the young human resource equipped with ethical and moral values, having leadership qualities, research culture and innovative skills.
All programs offered by MSU follow NEP 2020 with outcome based Approach. The curriculum has been designed with industry-specific goals in mind. University is planning to establish centre of excellences in biological, physical and social sciences in collaboration with leading centres from India and abroad.
Besides this, with a clarian call from our Hon'ble Prime Minister and Chief Minister to " double the income of farmers by 2022 " the University since its inception has started envisaging concrete steps for sustainable development and inclusiveness in domains of agriculture, veterinary and fisheries.
The University wishes to develop and nurture an ecosystem for various stake holders viz., students, teachers, farmers and society at large to make them flourish and contribute in their walks of life. We wish to extend an optimized and vibrant platform for enhancement of knowledge and  need based research for  benefit of the country and countrymen.
Together, let us work towards creating an atmosphere that cherishes, nurtures and fosters the uniqueness of each individual, an environment of life-to-life communication that brings forth the best in both the educators and the students. Together, let us build a university that exemplifies humanistic education- a university that creates a bright future and determines the course of history-a university we can be proud of, and that will serve as the guiding light and be a shining example for others. I wish to assure you on behalf of the University family, that we will help you to pursue your goals of life under varied social, cultural and economic environment and make the university family proud of your achievements.
